The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony

God Himself is the author of marriage.  The Matrimonial Covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this Covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a Sacrament.       CCC #1601

To assist couples in their preparation for Christian marriage:

  • Please contact the Parish Offices at least 6 months prior to the ceremony

  • Couples will make an appointment to meet with a priest before a date will be set

  • Pre-Cana (Pre-Marital) Program or Engagement Encounter must be attended prior to the marriage ceremony

The Church earnestly desires to assist engaged couples in strengthening their relationship. This is usually accomplished by learning about and discussing topics which promote a lasting commitment. Pre-Cana programs cover communication skills, decision making on the use of time and money, lifestyle adjustments, and spirituality.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia offers "The Joy-Filled Marriage" program for engaged couples. Couples may choose between a live online course and a self-paced course. Both options satisfy the marriage preparation requirements of the Archdiocese.  Please visit PhillyCatholicMarriagePrep.com for more information.

Weddings may be scheduled on Saturdays at 12noon or 2pm

Arrangements can be made for a Friday evening wedding at the discretion of the Pastor, except during the Season of Lent.  Visiting priests are welcome.

Please contact the Parish Offices at 610-259-1169 for additional details or to schedule an appointment.
